Reporting Via the Hotline
Georgia State University recognizes that an ethical, efficient, and effective work environment is essential to our continuing to successfully accomplish our mission. As a result, we have always placed a high priority on assuring that each member of our university community has the opportunity and means to convey any matter that could compromise that environment. Reporting through your supervisory chain frequently produces the most thorough and timely resolution of a matter and is encouraged. However, other reporting avenues, such as the University Police, Human Resources, the Office of the Ombudsperson, University Research, and University Auditing and Advisory Services, have been and continue to be readily available. In keeping with our efforts to expand alternatives for reporting matters of significance, we have now added Hotline reporting through a service provided by an independent company, The Network. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and allows you to voice your concerns, and to remain anonymous if you prefer.
Of special concern are fraud, waste, and abuse as well as harassment of any kind, given that they so directly impact our stewardship responsibilities and the well-being of individuals within our campus community. Yet, we would encourage you to report any other significant issue as well through any of the methods available to you.
On this page is a summary of the types of things that you may choose to report as well as information on how to report through the Hotline.
It’s more than just a Hotline through which individuals can report issues of suspected fraud, waste or abuse. We want to also solicit questions, comments and feedback about areas which could be streamlined and made more efficient and effective.

What to Report
Examples of concerns that may be reported to The Network for Georgia State University or the Georgia State University Foundation include:
Accounting or internal control issues, fraud, theft or other financial issues
Vandalism, unsafe working conditions, environmental issues or other safety matters
All issues dealing with research programs and funding
Misrepresentation of credentials, academic dishonesty or other academic violations
Confidentiality, data privacy, copyright violations or other waste or abuse of resources or information
All issues dealing with athletic department or programs
Activities related to hacking, password sharing, unauthorized access to systems or networks, software copyright violations
|Stimulus Act Abuse
Mismanagement, misuse and/or waste of funds allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (including abuse of authority, unfair competition practices, health and safety risks and retaliation against whistleblowers)

After processing the report, The Network will provide the information to designated university officials for appropriate action. Reports submitted to The Network will be handled promptly and discreetly. Retaliation of any kind will not be tolerated.
