Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
As you know, Hawai‘i Pacific University strives to bring higher education best practices to all areas of our University. One of the key initiatives related to this mission is in the area of compliance.
Compliance is a key step toward ensuring that the University has the proper environment for learning and a support system it needs to continue its growth and success in the coming years.
It is in this spirit that the University is launching a comprehensive compliance initiative to keep in step with certain laws, regulations, and best practices. More importantly, the University wants to promote a culture of doing the right thing.
The premise behind compliance is very simple; we need to make sure everyone understands the rules of the road and we need to make sure there is a process in place to report and respond to improper, unethical or illegal behavior.
In keeping with the University’s motto, “Holomua me ka ‘Oia’i’o, “Forward with Truth” – please join us in ensuring responsibility and accountability in all that we do. We encourage everyone in our ohana to take personal responsibility with this effort and to perform their duties with the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
